We at Hellgeth Engineering are focused on the modernization of the venerable Haegglunds Bv206. Our driveline upgrade to a lightweight 2.7CDI, Mercedes-Benz Common Rail Turbodiesel and a Mercedes-Benz W5A 580 Tiptronic automatic transmission equips the Bv206 with the most modern components available. The 2.7 CDI engine provides 163hp, as well as massive low end torque, which makes a tremendous difference when compared to the Bv206’s past drivelines. Its not about an engine conversion, it is a complete, extensive and proven system. THE POWER, SPEED, EFFICIENCY, RELIABILITY, NOISE REDUCTION and LOW EXHAUST EMISSIONS of the 2.7 CDI have made a lasting impression on nearly 100 customers worldwide. Fuel consumption of 9l/hour saves costs as well as extending the range of the Bv206 greatly.

Comfort and Interior

Any CDI driveline conversion comes with new driver and co-driver suspension seat, leather shifter knob and noise insulation for the engine tunnel.

Noise

CDI drivelines are reducing the noise by far. The chart shows internal noise of several Hägglunds versions.  Note: A difference of 3 dB (A) is showing twice the loudness.

Technical data – Gearbox

The driveline uses a modern Mercedes Benz electronic controlled W5A-580 automatic gearbox exceeding the original gearboxes by far in the means of shifting comfort, efficiency and acceleration. „D“ is the automatic mode, where the ECU is shifting the ideal gear for the actual situation. The Tiptronic- (driver controlled shifting) function is activated, when the shifter is moved into „+/-“ position.  „+“ is shifting one gear up, „-“ is shifting one gear down. The torque converter lock up clutch works controlled by the ECU  automatically in all modes and engages or disengages depending on  engine load, revolutions, rolling resistance and gas pedal position.

Operation—Digital Display

As a standard on CDI vehicles you will find a multifunctional digital display corresponding with the engine ECU and the gearbox ECU.  It has several modes and pages for showing actual driveline data like  gear indicator, coolant-temp., engine-oil temp., air intake temp.,  gearbox oil temp.,  battery voltage and oil level. It has certain warning functions as well. Additionally the speedometer, the temperature gauge and the fuel gauge are replaced by modern instruments as a standard.
